How to renew a loan?
-
Borrowed documents are automatically renewed 5 times their original loan length, as long as they are not recalled by another person. There is therefore no need to manually renew them:
- If it is not reserved by another user, a standard loan will last 28 days (4 weeks) plus a 140 days maximum extension period (5 automatic renewals) for a maximum loan period of 168 days.
- If it is not reserved by another user, a short loan ('consultatif', films, graphic novels, board games) will last 7 days (1 week) plus a 35 days maximum extension period (5 automatic renewals) for a maximum loan period of 42 days.
The due date for the loan of documents can be consulted at any time via your Swisscovery account ('Sign in' menu – 'My Loans').
The renewal of an interlibrary loan depends on the lending library conditions. Contact our Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery service to check if an extension period is possible.
