How do I replace a deactivated e-mail address associated with my SWITCH edu-ID account?

If you still know the password to your SWITCH edu-ID account, log in with your old e-mail address by adding ".inactive" to the e-mail address. For example, instead of john.doe@example.com enter john.doe@example.com.inactive:
 


 

If you can log in successfully, immediately add a new e-mail address to your SWITCH edu-ID account. Choose an e-mail address that will be valid in the long term, i.e. not a company or school e-mail address.

If you have forgotten your SWITCH edu-ID account password, please contact eduid-support@switch.ch.

We recommend that you have at least two independent e-mail addresses associated with your SWITCH edu-ID account. If your primary contact e-mail address becomes invalid or is deactivated, having an additional e-mail address ensures that you can still log in or reset your password using the alternative address.
